Clinical Hypnosis for Habit Formation

In my naturopathic practice, I focus on supporting the whole

person which includes the use of lifestyle medicine— not just through physical health strategies, but also by working with the powerful connection between mind and body. One of the most effective tools I now offer for habit change is clinical hypnosis — a gentle, natural process that helps you align your thoughts, actions, and goals through deep relaxation, guided focus and targeted suggestion.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a unique state of deep relaxation and focused awareness where your brain shifts into a parasympathetic state, reducing critical thinking, overthinking, and stress responses. It enhances your absorption of information, allowing for deeper realization and for positive suggestions to take root more easily. Over time, brain connectivity can change, creating new neural pathways that support healthier behaviours and more helpful thought patterns. Hypnosis is not about losing control, it is quite the opposite, you remain fully aware and in control throughout the process. We simply quiet the logical mind so the subconscious can share guidance more clearly.

How I use hypnosis in practice

While hypnosis has broad applications, I currently offer it specifically to support habit change — the small, daily decisions that shape your daily and long-term health. I do not offer hypnosis for severe mental health concerns, and it is only used within the scope of my naturopathic care.

Whether you're aiming to build consistent routines, overcome resistance to change, better understand subconscious blocks or feel more confident in your ability to follow through — hypnosis can help.

The goals of using hypnosis

Our aim in every hypnosis session is to support a state of relaxation, clarity, and internal alignment. Using hypnosis over the course of several appointments together can dive into areas such as:

  1. Enhancing confidence through repeated suggestion and internal rehearsal

  2. Desensitize unhelpful thoughts or action that may be holding you back

  3. Reframe your perception of your abilities and potential to give confidence for action

  4. Break automatic cycles of behavior that no longer serve you

  5. Identify hidden mental or emotional blocks that may be interfering with change

Hypnosis is a gentle and powerful tool that supports the lasting transformation of your habits by working with the part of your mind that already wants to help you succeed.
